menuNotice of the Nomination & Election of the NetJetsAssociation of Shared Aircraft Pilots Executive Board (REVISED)

Notice is hereby given of the nomination and election of an Executive Board to represent the NetJets Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots (NJASAP) members employed as pilots at NetJets Aviation, Inc.  The Executive Board will have the following positions available for nomination and election: President, Vice President of Financial Affairs, Vice President of Representational Affairs, Vice President of Industry Affairs, Vice President of Records, Communication, and Technology, Vice President of Committee Affairs, and three Trustee positions.

Nominations
The Nomination Period will begin Friday, August 1, 2008.  Nominations may be made and seconded by members of NJASAP who have obtained active or associate membership status in NJASAP by Thursday, July 31, 2008, at 5 p.m. (ET).  To “obtain active or associate membership status,” a prospective nominator or seconder must submit the NJASAP Membership Application and Dues Checkoff Authorization Form to the Association’s office by July 31, 2008, at 5 p.m. (ET), and fulfill only one of the following two conditions: The form must authorize dues checkoff, or, if the form does not authorize dues checkoff, the person who submitted it must pay his or her July 2008 dues in full and ensure the payment is received at the NJASAP office by August 11, 2008, at 5 p.m. (ET).

Nominations may be made in writing.  Please send written nominations to the attention of the Union Election Committee at the NJASAP office, 630 Morrison Road, Suite 110, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230, or via e-mail, election@njasap.com, no later than 11:59 p.m. (ET), on Sunday, August 31, 2008. 

Nominations may also be made in person during the Special Membership Nomination Meetings.  The first meeting will be held Friday, August 15, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. (ET) at the NJASAP office.  The second and final Special Membership Nomination Meeting will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008, at 5 p.m. (ET) at the NJASAP office.  Anyone who plans to attend either meeting via conference call may contact the Union Election Committee at election@njasap.com for additional information.

A nominee may accept his or her nomination for only one (1) position in person at a Special Membership Nomination Meeting or in writing by Sunday, August 31, 2008, at 11:59 p.m. (ET).  Acceptances submitted in writing must be sent to the attention of interim Vice President of Representational Affairs Adams at the NJASAP office or via e-mail.

Eligibility to Run for the NJASAP Executive Board
An individual is eligible to be nominated for an Executive Board position if he or she has:

(1) Been employed by NetJets Aviation, Inc., for a period of no less than twenty-four (24) months, and

(2) Obtained active or associate membership status in NJASAP by July 31, 2008, at 5 p.m. (ET).

To “obtain active or associate membership status,” a prospective nominee must submit the NJASAP Membership Application and Dues Checkoff Authorization Form to the Association’s office by July 31, 2008, at 5 p.m. (ET), and fulfill only one of the following two conditions: The form must authorize dues checkoff, or, if the form does not authorize dues checkoff, the person who submitted it must pay his or her July 2008 dues in full and ensure the payment is received at the NJASAP office by August 11, 2008, at 5 p.m. (ET).

The Election
The election will be conducted by telephone and electronic ballot.  It will be a secret ballot vote.  Voting information will be mailed to the address of record to all active and associate members of NJASAP by Tuesday, September 23, 2008.  Members who have not received voting information by Tuesday, September 30, 2008, should contact the Union Election Committee via e-mail, election@njasap.com, to request the information.  The official ballot tally will occur on Friday, October 24, 2008.

Eligibility to Vote
An individual is eligible to vote in the NJASAP Executive Board Election if he or she has obtained active or associate membership status in the Association by July 31, 2008, at 5 p.m. (ET). To “obtain active or associate membership status,” a prospective voter must submit the NJASAP Membership Application and Dues Checkoff Authorization Form to the Association’s office by July 31, 2008, at 5 p.m. (ET), and fulfill only one of the following two conditions: The form must authorize dues checkoff, or, if the form does not authorize dues checkoff, the person who submitted it must pay his or her July 2008 in full and ensure the payment is received at the NJASAP office by August 11, 2008, at 5 p.m. (ET).

An individual hired after July 31, 2008, is eligible to vote if he or she submits the NJASAP Membership Application and Dues Checkoff Authorization Form to the Association’s office within twenty business days after the date of hire, and the form must fulfill only one of the following two conditions: it must authorize dues checkoff, or, if the form does not authorize dues checkoff, the person who submitted it must remit, to the NJASAP office, one month’s worth of dues by 5 p.m. (ET) on the tenth (10th) day of the month following the month for which dues are paid.

The Nomination and Election schedule and this notice will be mailed to each member’s address of record, published in NJASAP publications mailed to the membership, and posted on the Association’s website.  Copies of the NJASAP Constitution and Bylaws and the rules governing the conduct of this election will be made available by the Association upon request.  Furthermore, the NJASAP Bylaws are available on the NJASAP website, www.njasap.com.
